So here's another cool thing that the Japanese invented: A smart toothbrush that makes use of an accelerometer. Omron Healthcare Co., has just made the world's first electric toothbrush with a 3 axis accelerometer sensor.
The accelerometer on the toothbrush tries to detect which way you're holding the brush so that it can adjust the speed of the rotators/vibrators so if the brush senses that you're brushing your gum area, it would slow down the speed of the brush since this area is sensitive and dentists recommend brushing it very lightly.
Of course, don't expect this smart toothbrush to cost somewhere along the cost of your regular Oral- B, it has a price tag of ¥20,000 or around $210.
