Problem in sending big files on email? ...find solution here

Technologies have surpassed the limitation of geographic boundaries; Online collaboration are common now a days, i.e. you are working on a project sitting at office while your team members are at different geographic location and working on different modules, towards end all data needs to be joined, hence you need to exchange large files, you know the hardships that arise.
Most of the services keep strict limit on email attachment sizes and uploading files is a real cumbersome job… frustrated, don’t worry “to every problem there is a solution”, in such a case you can either use hybrid mails or make use of online backup tools.
In this article I will be reviewing best Hybrid mailing services and my next article is reserved for Online Backup applications, I hope that's fair enough.

Hybrid Email - How it works?

Hybrid email applications upload the file, host it on its ftp site and provides user with a link. This link can be passed on to the desired client. Further client can download the file from host server by clicking the link... as simple as that.

Best options available

Every Hybrid Email service provider has its own USP (unique selling point) and all are good in one or other way,  I have just included the best ones (available free or at marginal cost)…

yousendit.com is not the first, but it is certainly one of the best. Limited feature service is free for personal users and for a small fee host’s plethora of options; offering password delivery, return receipts, tracked delivery and much more. For the paid version file sizes can range up to a hefty 2 GB but need not to worry, basic free plan still allows 100 MB upload and plenty of features. File uploaded on free version offers unlimited download for 7 days, post which your file is automatically deleted.

FileFactory.com is another interesting option - it sports a Facebook application, a desktop client, and many image editing features and asks for a small price to pay for the extra options. It have limit on free accounts- but they are still quite functional nonetheless.

DropSend.com is an application good for commercial usage. Its interface is sleek and features are endless, but again free version is limited and to actually get best experience, you need to shell money out of your pocket. This is amongst the most expensive applications and even with their expensive plan; DropSend limit features too much.

sendspace.com is very similar to yousendit.com in many ways: it’s easy, fast, and quite durable. Paid services are also offered and they are fairly cheap when compared with SendSpace.com ($7 plan from SendSpace.com offers much more convenience than the $99 counterpart from DropSend.com) and the free version isn’t too limited – it allows user to send a 300 MB file without any difficulty although it doesn’t have the glittering features available on FileFactory.com, but you need to evaluate if that feature is really required.

Store&Serve.com is another alternative in the series offering service with no-frills. It has a feature that if file is downloaded once per month, it stays on the ftp site forever. It is not as convenient as other alternatives, since most others allow you to send and upload the file all in one form while here first you have to upload and then need to send it separately. It might not be the best one, but as an option can’t be ignored.

zUpload.com
is another service with 500 MB file upload limit and has support for unlimited downloads. It is nice service to get in and out- easy to load and easy to send and it's completely free.

mailbigfile.com is a similar to zUpload.com, offers pleasing looking design, but towards end only does as much as zUpload. The free version has a 100 MB limit and pro version is available around $20. For free version zUpload has a larger file size limit, so technically speaking it’s a better choice.

Recommendation

If you’re looking for easy to use solution, check out yousendit.com or zUpload.com. I myself use free version of yousendit.com and I never faced any problem and I am happy with offerings. If you need to send file with large features, just log-on to FileFactory.com and send your file.

This list is not exhaustive and I hope there must be more mailing services, about which I am not even aware of… if you liked some of the service for any reasons at any point of time, just add a comment and let me know so that I can update the same in my list and make it useful for everyone.
In next article, I will discuss "online backup applications" as an alternate to hybrid mails.
